Painted rocks is trending everywhere (due to kindness rock project) and I was inspired by that to make my own painted rocks for halloween. Here, I am sharing my twist on halloween rocks and made them glow in the dark. You can make them as a decor for fun or hide them for someone to enjoy as per the kindness project. Let's see how.

Materials Used:
Rocks
Acrylic paint and paint brush
Black and white markers or glow in the dark paint

Step 1: Select the rocks of your choice. I selected the rocks which had flat surface instead of round ones so that you will have space to draw faces or write any message.

Step 2: Paint the rocks using a paint brush in halloween colors. I chose orange and black.

Step 3: Use black marker for orange rocks and white marker for black rocks to draw jack o lantern faces or other halloween-y things like spider web, skull, ghost, etc.I also wrote halloween-y words like spooky, boo in some of the rocks.

Step 4: Use glow in the dark paint to do the same as the previous step. You can do either step 3 or step 4 or both to use as double sided rocks. Using glow in the dark alone makes a creepy and cool decor for the front yard. You can place these stones randomly to create the halloween scene.

How easy was that? Will you try these? Let me know what you think about these halloween stones.

  1. This is so cute. The glow part is what would make this stand out. We are always finding rocks at the park so the grandchildren would love these!

  3. I love painted rocks, do you ever hide them around town? There are groups that do that near us, and my kids love to find a painted rock (we've only found one so far but it was a happy day!) The Glow in the Dark paint is perfect for Halloween rocks. #HomeMattersParty
