Visual Stimulation cards for babies - Free printable

You have come to the right place if you are looking for DIY visual stimulation cards with free printable for your baby. I designed the visual stimulation cards to be very simple and with the point of using them beyond the first three months. And yes, the black and white and contrasting pictures help stimulate babies' and help them synchronize what they see with their eyes to their brains, which will help them with the coordination and function of the brain and sight. Now let's move on to the making part.

Materials Used:

Step 1: Print the visual stimulation cards using an inkjet printer and white cardstock.

Step 2: Cut the white parts of the cardstock on the sides to make it into small (almost) square cards.

Step 3: Use the glue stick to make the cards double-sided. I wanted the shapes on one side and the animals on the other. Trim any white parts of the cardstock showing out after gluing using scissors.

Step 4: Place two double-sided cards side by side with a small gap and use the black tape to join the cards together. Fold the excess tape on the other side. Flip the cards on the other side and add tape as shown.

Step 5: Keep adding the cards by following the same method as step 4 until desired. Cover the end of the cards with black tape to give a complete look to the DIY visual stimulation cards. The black and white high-contrast visual stimulation cards are now ready to use as an accordion fold or as a book for your baby.

I have designed the cards in such a way that you can introduce many vocabulary words and communicate with the baby, regardless of whoever is reading or showing them to the baby, as the baby grows. Oftentimes we are stuck with what to play or read to such a small baby when they are cooing/trying to communicate while looking at the pictures. For example:
you can say, look here is a white circle. How many white circles do you see? One white circle.
What is next? One red circle. how many red circles? One red circle.
Next, one white square. Two yellow squares and so on.
For animals, you can talk about their sounds, where you can find them, what color they are, unique features like "tall" giraffes, etc.

I hope you have an idea of how to make and use these cards. If you find it useful, please do share in the comments and also share this link with your friends who are expecting a baby. If you make it, please don't be shy to share a picture with me, I would love to see it.
